The County Treasurer’s office is responsible for the cash management process in the County. This includes collecting and receipting of all County money. This office coordinates the tax bill process and the collection of the second installment property taxes for all municipalities.
Mission:
The mission of the County Treasurer’s office is to provide efficient courteous service and maintain accurate records, while upholding the fiduciary and statutory responsibilities required of the office.
Responsibilities of the County Treasurer:
- Manage County funds by receipting and accounting for the money received from taxpayers, departments and government agencies. Disburse monies due employees, vendors, taxing jurisdictions and taxpayers.
- Invest County funds not immediately needed to ensure safety, liquidity and return, while following guidelines set by County Board, State Statutes, and County Investment Policy.
- Administer Property Tax Laws and Collect Property Taxes as outlined in the Wisconsin Statutes.
- Maintain Tax Billing and Collection History Records for archives and public inspection per open records law.

Boat Launch Permits
Effective April 1, 2020, the cost for an annual pass is as follows:
Green Lake County Resident – $30.00
Non-Resident – $40.00
Each additional pass – $2.00
Boat Launch Mail-In Application
Annual passes are valid for both Margaret Dodge Memorial Park on County Road K and Sunset Park on County Road A.
All annual passes can also be purchased in the County Treasurer’s office.
Daily launch passes will be sold at the parks in the launch area.
The cost of a daily pass is $7.00

Lottery and Gaming Credit
The Lottery and Gaming Credit provides direct property tax relief to homeowners as a credit on their property tax bill. The Lottery and Gaming Credit is shown on the tax bill as a reduction in property taxes due.
To qualify, you must be a Wisconsin resident, own a dwelling and use it as your primary residence as of the January 1 certification date of the year the property taxes are levied.
2024 Lottery and Gaming Credit Applications (Form LC-100) can be submitted via online application portal or mail in.
2023 lottery credit late claims must be submitted via the online application portal by the October 1 deadline. Attach a 2023 property tax bill during the online application process when prompted.
Property owners must notify the County Treasurer’s office within 30 days of the date on which the property is no longer used as their primary residence by completing the Lottery and Gaming Credit Removal Request (Form LC-400) online or mail in.

You must pay the first installment by January 31st in order to postpone the second installment until July 31st. If you miss the first installment January 31st due date, the entire remaining unpaid balance becomes delinquent and subject to interest & penalty of 1.5% per month from February 1st until paid.
If you choose to pay the tax bill in full in December or January, you need to pay it to your local Municipal Treasurer.
If your first installment is paid by the due date to the local Municipal Treasurer, the second installment is due by July 31st to the County Treasurer. If you miss the July 31st due date, the balance becomes delinquent and subject to interest & penalty of 1.5% per month retroactive to February 1st.
All delinquent taxes (2023 and prior) are paid to the County Treasurer year-round. Online processing fees apply: credit card (2.39%), debit card ($3.95), electronic check ($1.50).

The 2025 edition of the Green Lake County Plat Book is available at the County Treasurer’s Office for $30 plus tax ($1.65) if picked up at the Treasurer’s Office or $35.65 if mailed.

The main duties of the office of the Real Property Lister are to prepare and maintain accurate ownership and description information for all parcels in the county.
This includes:
- Parcels numbers.
- Owner’s name and accurate legal description as shown on the latest records in the office of the Register of Deeds.
- Owner’s mailing address.
- Number of acres in the parcel if it contains more than one acre.
- Schools district and special purpose district codes.
- The Real Property Lister provides information on parcels of real property in the county for the use of the taxation district assessors, city, village and town clerks and treasurers and county offices and any other persons requiring that information.
