INFORMATION: 

Due to recent severe storms and excessive rain, the Governor of the State of Wisconsin has declared a state of emergency in Wisconsin.  Under Wisconsin SS #323, Emergency Management,  the Sheriff of Green Lake County has imposed a “Slow-No-Wake” order upon the following bodies of water in Green Lake County:

1) All of Lake Puckaway.
2) All of Little Green Lake.
3) All of the Fox River from Lake Puckaway north, through Princeton, and to the north County Line at Berlin.

***Big Green Lake is exempt from this order, however, citizens should use good caution for hazards and floating debris.  Big Green Lake wake creating activity should be done at a great distance from shore as not to impact the sensitive shoreline.

***Slow-no-wake is defined as operation at a speed as slow as possible while maintaining the ability to navigate.  

Sheriff Mark Podoll is asking for broad community cooperation during this high water event.  “Let’s all look out for the safety of everyone while protecting our natural resources.”

If violators are observed, obtain a boat registration number, description, direction of travel, and then call the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office at #920-294-4000.  The fine for this violation, first offense, is $232.00.
