Information:

On Friday, July 8, 2016, 9:10am, the Green Lake County Sheriff’s E-911 center received a call concerning a two vehicle traffic crash. The location of the crash was reported to be at the intersection of Sth.23, Sth.73, and Pye Alley, within the Township of Princeton, Green Lake County.  This location is approximately 3 miles East of Princeton on Sth.23.

With law enforcement and emergency services personnel advised, units began to arrive on the scene at approximately 9:15am. Due to the location of the crash, Sth.23 was reduced to one lane and the northbound lane of Sth.73 was also restricted.  The closures and restrictions lasted for approximately two hours.

Concerning the crash scene, the first vehicle (2008 Mercury Mountaineer), was driven by an adult female, Holly Walker, age 68, of Neshkoro, who was trapped inside of her vehicle and required extracation.  Walker was flown from the scene by a medical helicopter with incapacitating injuries.  The second vehicle (2015 Ford F350 Truck pulling a boat), was driven by an adult male, Brian Zirgibel, age 38, of Green Lake.  Zirgibel sustained possible injuries, however, was not medically transported from the scene.  Both vehicles had extensive damage and had to be towed from the crash site.

An initial investigation into this incident has revealed that the 2015 Ford F350, driven by Zirgibel, was westbound on Sth.23 and turned south on Sth.73 and into the eastbond lane of Walker.  The collision was head-on.

Responding units to this incident were the City of Princeton Police, Green Lake Police, Wisconsin State Patrol, an emergency medical helicopter, Green Lake County Princeton Ambulance, Princeton Fire/Rescue, Green Lake/Brooklyn Fire/Rescue, and the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

While the traffic crash report is currently not available, this incident remains under investigation by the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
