Information:

On Wednesday, July 23rd, 2014, at 8:32am, the Green Lake County E911 Communications Center received a report of a vehicle versus bicycle crash involving injury. The crash was reported to be on Forest Ridge Rd at McConnell Rd. in the Township of Brooklyn,  Green Lake County. This location is approximately three miles Northeast of the City of Green Lake.
   

Sheriff, Deputy Sheriff, and Emergency responding units arrived on the scene at approximately 8:35am and found one truck and one bicycle involved with one injured male. EMS, Paramedic Unit, and First Responders attended to the injured and ThedaStar medical flight was summoned. The lone injured male, the bicycle operator, was transported to the Green Lake Fire Station where he was later flown for medical treatment. His condition is believed to be critical.  

While this crash remains under investigion, evidence and witness statements indicate that a bicycle being operated by 18 year old Corey Viars, Green Lake, was Southbound on Forest Ridge Rd. when Viars failed to stop at a stop sign. An Eastbound 2014 Chevrolet truck driven by Erubey Corona, male, age 40, of West Bend, was struck in the side of the vehicle by Viars as Corona crossed the intersection from a legal stop sign.

Responding units to this crash include the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Green Lake/Brooklyn Fire Department, Green Lake County EMS, Green Lake Paramedic Unit, and First Responders along with ThedaStar mediflight.

This incident remains under investigation by the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
