On Monday, March 13, 2017, at 12:50 am, the Green Lake County E911 Communications Center received a call of a house fire at 103 South Farmer St in the City of Princeton. Princeton Police and Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the fire and the Princeton Fire Department and Emergency Medical Services were paged.
Units arriving on the scene reported an active house fire and requested a coordinated fire suppression response involving other assisting jurisdictions. Eventually, the fire was brought under control.
During the course of the fire investigation, during the day on Monday, an individual was found deceased within the home. The individual has not been positively identified. The State Fire Marshalls Office, State Division of Criminal Investigation, and the Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office are assisting the Princeton Police Department in determining the cause and origin of the fire.
The Green Lake County Coroner’s Office is anticipating an autopsy to occur today, Tuesday.
This is an on-going investigation and at this time is considered suspicious in nature.
