Challenge Coins Awarded

At last week’s Green Lake County Judicial/Law Enforcement and Emergency Management Committee meeting, Wednesday, 11/14/18, 5:00pm, Sheriff Mark Podoll awarded three individuals with Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office Challenge Coins.

Challenge Coins are awarded to citizens and public officials who’s exemplary actions made a difference in the life of another or within the community. Challenge Coin Inmate Rescue – Sheriff Mark Podoll presents Green Lake County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Officer, Craig Leinweber (right), with a Challenge Coin. Officer Leinweber, while on duty in the Corrections Center, May 30, 2018, discovered an inmate attempting to hang himself. Officer Leinweber then took emergency actions and provided aid which resulted in the 38 year old inmate surviving.

Challenge Coin CPR Rescue – Sheriff Mark Podoll presents two local citizens, Mrs. Stacey Dibelius of Princeton (left), and Mr. Eric Shady of Redgranite (right), with Challenge Coins. Mrs. Dibelius and Mr. Shady where at a Princeton business on May 27, 2018, when a local individual collapsed having a heart attack. Calling #911, and with the verbal assistance of a Communications Officer, Dibelius and Shady worked as a team to provide CPR until an ambulance arrived. The local individual survived and is back in the community as a result of their actions.
